Male or Female Colleague

In the course of day-to-day work, colleagues get to know each other well. It is not strange for two staff members to get close because of some official work and their association often develops into an emotional relationship. This continues to be alright till the management comes to know about it. When the fact is revealed, then a strange situation occurs. Sometimes, it gets to a stage where colleagues lose their job. So when your colleague is your girlfriend or boyfriend, it is essential to pat attention to certain things.

• If you have a colleague girlfriend or boyfriend, who is not always in a romantic mood, you should behave normally. Your attention should be on your work.
• Don't spend most of the time talking to your girlfriend or boyfriend or hanging around near her or his seat.
• Don't behave as lovers. Behave as normal colleagues.
• Don't remain stuck to the intercom or telephone.
• Don't hug or stick close to each other near the bathroom, corridor, steps and lift.
• Don't waste your time and others' by talking about yourself and your love.
• Don't go to movies with your girlfriend or boyfriend without informing. This would offend the management.
• Don't joke, tease, make fun or talk about your personal problems during office hours.
• Try to find a job for yourself and for your girlfriend or boyfriend in another company seriously.
• Do not forget the decorum of the office by drowning yourself in love. Discharge your duties well.
• If you make a girl your girlfriend or boy your boyfriend, it is possible that some other staff who is trying to attract him or her toward himself or herself will offended with you. In such situations, beware of the other staff members. They might provoke the management against you.
• Mind you, there are many cunning girlfriends or boyfriends who make their friends to achieve their selfish motives. After their work is done, they ditch the boyfriend or girlfriend just as a housefly is picked up from the milk and thrown.
• Do not quarrel with any staff member in order to impress your girlfriend or boyfriend.
• Do not forget to respect your seniors in order to make a good impression.
• Don't address your girlfriend or boyfriend as 'Darling', 'Sweety', 'My heart,' etc. in the office.
• Share your talks with other staff members as well. Be in tune with them.
• Do not find a pretext of going to your boyfriend's or girlfriend's seat and do not insist his or her hanging near you. 
• If your girlfriend or boyfriend ignore you in office, instead of getting  angry, try to understand her or him.
• If your girlfriend or boyfriend is the boss of your office, don't try to dominate other staff members.
• Do not doubt about your girlfriend or boyfriend if she or he is friendly with other colleagues or nurture ill will against those staff members.
• If the management tells you to remain away from your girlfriend or boyfriend, then protest against it because they don't have any right to complain against the mutual relationship between two adults.
